JFL Autos is an approved MOT tester by the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency

our byfleet mot test station

Class iv mot's while you wait

An MOT is a requirement for all vehicles in the UK which are over 3 years old, it is illegal to drive a car without a valid MOT. The only exceptions are if you have booked an MOT and are driving to the test station or to have remedial work done following the failure of a test.

Providing that you have booked with us in advance an MOT takes roughly an hour to complete, and if you request we will do them while you wait.  We even have a dedicated viewing area where you can watch our MOT tester in action if you wish.

An MOT is an annual test but can be renewed one month before expiry.  Therefore if your MOT is due on 31st March it can be carried out at any point from the 1st March, and will last until 31st March the following year.  There is therefore no reason not to get your car tested as soon as possible.

A huge advantage for us having our own MOT test facility on site is that we can offer free restests in the unfortunate event that your car does fail. Whereas if you take your car to somewhere where it has to be taken offsite to be tested the retest is normally charged at 50% of the original cost.  After consulting with you we can conduct any necessary repairs on site, saving you time and money.

Our promise to you is that we will never look to fail your car in order to make money off the repair bill as other MOT stations have unfortunately been accused of. We will always provide a full explanation for the failure and will not carry out repairs without first consulting with you.

If you are unsure of the current MOT status of your vehicle you can check on the governments own website here or you can contact us and we can look it up for you.

The MOT is essentially a check to ensure you car is safe, no maintenance is carried out on your vehicle.  To ensure that you car remains reliable and efficient you should get it serviced regularly, for more information on the service inspection click here.
